Defo dabo

Defo dabo is a large bread, that is shared, typically eaten on holidays. While we were learning how to make injera we also got to see how this is made in a local home.

It is cooked outside over coals. The ladies first prepared to pot by layering it with false banana leaves, then they poured the batter in on top of the leaves, covered it with more leaves and then a lid:
Then they put dung on top!!
It probably took about an hour to cook, then it was cut up and we ate it with our coffee.
