metre pizza

Thinking of our ship friends as they are in the Canary Islands for the maintenance period. One of our memories from being in Tenerife with the ship was going to the 'Metre Bar' - a cafe where you would order a metre of pizza or a metre of sausages.

Well, we have found somewhere in Addis where you can get pizza by the metre or half metre too!! Sadly not the sausage option here though, although we did eat the packet of sausages that my Mum had brought frozen from the UK this week - mmmm.

We only managed a half metre, but are more than happy to return and try a metre pizza if anyone fancies joining us???

BA Class of 2013

One of the great privileges of working as part of an International community is the opportunity to do things differently than we would back in the UK. One of the major differences between schools in the UK and International schools is the significance of graduation. When students complete their Grade 12 year they have a graduation ceremony. It is a chance to honour the graduates for the hard work they have put in over 12 years of school. It is also an opportunity to challenge them one last time to be God-glorifying world changers. I had the unique privilege of taking part in the various graduation events as both their Grade 12 homeroom teacher, and the Secondary Principal.

Blog Update

Now that we have internet back we have done a quick refresh of the blog design. There is a new picture at the top that reflects our transition from the sea to the land of coffee.

The picture was taken at a coffee ceremony after the recent end of year Gibesha (Party) as the coffee beans were being roasted.
