Orientation begins

Almost all our new staff have arrived, and almost all our returning staff have returned, hurrah! The campus feels alive again with children playing together any moment it is not raining.

It has been a busy few days having people over for lunches, acquiring passport photos to open a bank account and to renew our residency IDs, renewing our driving licences and having a staff BBQ to get everyone together.

Today though, marks the start of the orientation programme, which is a mixture of sessions for all staff and spouses, some just for the new staff and spouses and some just for the teaching staff so here's to hoping we are all in the right place at the right time! Some sessions are the fun getting to know each other type, some are the more serious sessions on Ethiopian culture and child protection policy and then of course the useful ones where you find out who to call if you have a flood in the middle of the night kind of things.

We have two childcare teams here to run full time childrens programmes for the staff children, such a wonderful blessing which I very much appreciate after being overwhelmed with trying to run childcare sessions with a 6 month old baby in tow last year! Now our baby is big enough to go to the childcare and have butterflies painted on her face! So sweet!
